Nitin evades tax and gets summons

Ishq hero Nitin was served summons by the Central Excise and Customs department for alleged tax evasion. Nitin who is riding high on success of back to back movies Ishq and GJG and is currently with pocketful of projects ignored to pay the tax to government

As per sources, Nitin did not register for payment of service tax on his film contracts for two years now. A source says, “Nitin has been summoned for non-payment of service tax and he is yet to turn up.”

According to the service tax officials many young and upcoming actors and even the TV show hosts and anchors have not registered with the service tax department nor are paying their service tax diligently to the government. According to the amendment brought about recently by the central government all stakeholders in the production of a cinematographic project should pay 12.36% service tax on their contracts. And actors and TV show hosts and anchors should pay tax in the event of their contract earnings exceeding Rs 10 lakhs. Nitin was served summons but the actor has to respond yet. Dude, pay tax and stand tall man, after all set yourself as a role model to the youth, not the wrong way!
