Director K. Vijaya Bhaskar, who delivered Telugu blockbusters such as "Nuvvu Naku Nachav" and "Malliswari" with actor Daggubati Venkatesh, hopes to score a hat-trick with "Masala" which is coming out Thursday.
"Masala" is the Telugu remake of Hindi comedy "Bol Bachchan".
"My films are known for providing wholesome entertainment and even though 'Masala' is a remake, I have made it as entertaining as possible. It's my third film with Venkatesh and our combination has always resulted in a hit. I hope it continues with this film too," Bhaskar told.
"Comedy has been an integral part of all my films. I believe audiences deserve to be entertained for the money they shell out. Therefore, I give equal importance to comedy in my films," he added.
Bhaskar feels there's nothing wrong in working on remakes.
"It's not like I'm against remakes. The original was received well in Hindi, and the makers in Telugu approached me with the opportunity and I grabbed it. It has come out very well and I'm hoping audiences receive it well," he said.
Two of his films namely "Classmates" and "Bhale Dongalu" were remakes.
"Masala", co-produced by Daggubati Suresh Babu and Sravanti Ravi Kishore, also features Anjali, Ram Pothineni and Shazahn Padamsee in important roles. It is a very important film for Venkatesh and Ram as they are desperately seeking a hit after flops such as "Shadow" and "Ongole Githa", respectively.
